The 17th Conference of the Association for Cataract and Refractive Surgery was held successfully and received a well-deserved response and interest from the participants.

Leading specialists from Bulgaria and the world presented lectures on the main thematic areas of the conference:

  • Challenges in cataract and refractive surgery
  • New developments in the diagnosis and treatment of the posterior segment of the eye
  • Problems in glaucoma surgery.

Among the invited foreign lecturers were:

  • Prof. Andrzej Grzybowski, MD, PhD, MBA, MAE, Board member of EVER, Warsaw, Poland
  • Prof. Ahmed H. Assaf, MD, PhD, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, Phaco-Refractive consultant at Watany Eye Hospital, Owner of Assaf for Eye and Lasik
